School Holidays – Spring 2016

Cooks River Creative Playgroup:
During the spring school holidays our playgroup will run as normal (though closed for public holiday on Monday 3 October). Older siblings are welcome to join on the  fun!

Nature Scavenger Hunt:
Tuesday 27 September – 10am-11:30
Meet at the reserve next to our warehouse at 11 Close Street in Canterbury
Suggested Donation: $5

We supply a bag and a list of natural materials for you and your child(ren) to search for along the Cooks River. Meet back at the reserve at 11:30 and win a prize if you’ve completed the hunt! Bring a picnic lunch if you’d like.
(Please note we will not have warehouse access on this day – so no toilets or cafe.)

 

 

FUN-Raiser
Saturday 1 October – 10am-2pm
11 Close Street in Canterbury

Nope, not a typo – we’re raising FUN. Come along to donate supplies to our art play space*. In particular we are looking for loose parts for our Pop-Up Playground (see below).

Wish List:
Cardboard boxes and tubes, Tires, Milk crates, Large branches or tree stumps, Cable spools, PVC piping, Egg cartons, Bamboo, Bubble wrap, Storage containers on wheels, Paper, Towels and old shirts for smocks, Dress-up clothes/costumes, Any misc art supplies

If you’ve got it, we can probably use it, just ask!
Things we won’t take: glass jars, plastic toys

*Please note, due to the nature of the work we’ll be doing this day we ask that anyone staying to help with the working bee please leave the kids at home for this one.

 

Pop-Up Adventure Playground:
Wednesday 5 October – 10am-3pm
11 Close Street in Canterbury
Suggested Donation: $5
A full day of open-ended play and creation. We’ll be filling the warehouse and the reserve with loose parts designed to stimulate imagination – the sky’s the limit. Read more about the concept of “Pop Up Adventure Playgrounds” here.
Cockatoo Canteen will be open!
